Descrizione

Cresce fino a una dimensione di 12,5 cm di lunghezza. È stato segnalato che la damigella pinna lunga ha una relazione mutualistica con il gambero Mysidium integrum. L'interazione è descritta come una forma di addomesticamento con i gamberetti che forniscono nutrienti per gli allevamenti di alghe di cui si nutrono i pesci e il pesce che fornisce protezione dai predatori.

Diffusione

Zone tropicali dell'Atlantico del nord comprendenti i Caribi, la Florida le Bahamas e il Golfo del Messico.
